So very in awe they toured this album for 3 years.
This is their BEST album and I can't believe they can still recapture the NE sound after all these years. Not to mention...the SHOW!

My Prominent Memories of NE:
1990- World Music Theatre, Chicago, IL. Opening Act for DM/Violator Tour
I was 18 years old and had never heard of Nitzer Ebb prior to this concert. So with any DM opening act-I could give a shit when they took stage. However, what arrived was an angry, militant, commanding young man in boy scout shorts, braces and boots stomping around and yelling at us. He demanded an audience and I was captured and hence became an "Ebbhead".
1991- W. Lafayette, IN. Purdue University
In my all-girls dorm room (actually in a white sweater w/ the DM locket prominently displayed)...waiting for 3 people from my 'Mass Comm' class to work on a shared presentation.
While waiting, I had the CD5 Remix of Lightning Man/Getting Closer/Fun To Be Had bright lime green (I remember!) CD on my stereo. So finally one of the 3 classmates arrives, listens, and declares with a wanna-be street gangsta' tone,
"Whoa...You're JAMMIN' Girl!".
I had to look away and cringe and laugh while thinking,
"What an ass...Who the fuck JAMS to Nitzer Ebb?".
2010- Dusseldorf, Germany- Night One- DM/SOTU Tour
I had been waiting in line (general admission for Front of Stage ticket holders) since Noon in February as it poured rain. I was not so happy...(I like my comforts) so I put on my headphones and listened to "Ascend" on repeat. (I LOVE when the Alan Wilder part kicks in!). At this point I get tapped by Cristian who points to Douglas walking into the arena. The moment was surreal and almost....creepy. Not to sound deranged but I was so into the music - seeing the actual artist stroll by fucked it up. 2010 - Frankfurt, Germany
Got my ass handed to me by Jason. Scolded like a child. To make a long story short, I had backstage access but was denied by German security due to miscommunication. So in my mind- I'm thinking...I'm fucking 38 years old and was invited by Douglas. However, I couldn't move an INCH per security and if you know me, I was not pleased (read - combatitive).
So Jason emerges to find me flipping off the intolerant 'security' and SHIT does he give me an earful! I understand they have a job to do, but there is a right and a wrong way to do it. So Jason lectured me for a good 10 minutes and I felt like a complete asshole...OUT OF RESPECT FOR THE BAND. But NOT to the BS security. Still, it resonates but won't guarantee any future good behavior from me.
I'm a bit of a firecracker.
Also in Frankfurt, I was telling Douglas how my voice was ripped to shreads after seeing so many DM and NE shows and I didn't see how he could sing night after night. His reponse "Well, you also haven't been doing it for 30 years like me." Hmmm. That shut me up, I hadn't even considered that. In my mind, I was just like him, but in reality...um, not so much. Reality check!
2011 - London, England.
Mute Records 30th Anniversary
Most girls have a sense when someone is staring at you. I do - and catch guys all the time (hello Douglas off stage during DM's set). So during Nitzer Ebb's set, I have that third/annoying sense and turn to see...It's Alan Wilder.
It must be an artists' thing, seeing fans truly enjoying the music. I would hope anyway, that's why I'm there.
